Autographa gamma (syn=Plusia gamma) is a migratory species found in many habitats across the Maltese Islands. Larvae feed on a wide range of wild and cultivated plants. Can be seen flying both by day and by night. Common name arises from the silver markings on each forewing which resemble the letter 'Y'.
